The Pixelfish Club has evolved over the last 8 years — from a small, vanilla survival server, to multiple, dedicated modded server experiences. Here's how we got here.
Pixelfish Club opened up map one for a pure vanilla Survival Multiplayer server. No mods, no plugins — just community-driven exploration and building from the ground up.
The club's first, albeit short-lived, modded server offering used the Fabric version of Better Minecraft.
The club's most popular modded server was launched. At peak, we had close to 30 regular players. Unfortunately, the pack's development was abandoned, and newer mods were starting to become popular in the Minecraft community, so we had to close it down.
The club's first custom modpack launched as a standalone server alongside the vanilla world. MoreLore introduced a curated mix of exploration, technology, and quality-of-life mods to deepen the survival experience.
We made the decision to start a new map around the Cave and Cliffs update to take advantage of all the new features introduced in that update.
A major revision of the modpack, driven by community feedback from the first pack. v2 brought deeper progression systems, an expanded modlist, and a more cohesive world design.
The third iteration refined the pack into a stable, well-balanced modded experience. MoreLore v3 established the foundation that would carry the community forward and eventually evolve into Core Edition.
A second server branch launched alongside the main pack, built around role-playing systems, custom worlds, and structured progression. RPG Edition became the second pillar of the Pixelfish modded community.
MoreLore v3 has been rebranded as Core Edition — the new mainline modded experience. The Vanilla SMP is now retired. The Pixelfish Club is now a fully dedicated modded community, offering both MoreLore Core and RPG Editions going forward.
Below is a list of common game rule default values we currently use for most, if not all, of our Minecraft servers.
